Our Agribusiness Development and Skilling Model

Our approach and model codenamed LEAP-ME combines learning and immediately putting what is learned into self-employment development practices.

Our trainees and incubatees undertake intensive in-class and on-farm practical LEARNING in selected value chains at our Ecoform. We then encourage them to form an ENTERPRISE or modify/innovate on what they already have. We encourage them to pull together efforts and resources by ASSOCIATING. They then PRODUCE either individually or in groups and finally MARKET and EARN

CEADC has a Youth Agribusiness Promotional Point located at the regional offices in western Uganda. At this point, they profile and showcase their products to the market. The point also serves as a connectivity point for the entrepreneurs skilled by CEADC.

Our Value Chains

Poultry

We focus on native chicken breeds to produce high quality yellow yoke eggs. This is mainly to tap into organic markets especially with a focus on the hotel industry

Apiculture

We rear bees and process honey and its bye products. Currently we have an apiary with a capacity of 50 bee hives. Our plan is to grow these to 200 hives with a target of 2,000 liters generating an approximate income of Shs 70 million per year.

Dairy Semi- zero Grazing System

We are involved with zero-grazing dairy animal projects.  Our target is to improve the breeds ourselves to arrive at 200 liters per day from only 8 cows with an income target of Shs 60 million per year. We will grow with acquisition of more land for cultivation of adequate forage.

Aquaculture

We have a total 6 fish ponds. We target harnessing 5,000 fish heads per harvest. With 2 harvests in a year, we target 10,000 fish heads with an estimated income of Shs 50 million per year. Our agribusiness skilling offers practical knowledge to especially young people interested in fish farming as a business.

Cuniculture

We rear rabbits mainly for their urine which is both a good fertilizer and an organic pesticide.

Hotel Food Processing

Young people are trained in food and beverages preparation in a hotel setting. This is done practically at Cielo Country Inn Hotel owned and run by the Directors of CEADC

Agribusiness Development Projects

We are a business development hub for other enterprises in the community. We mainly focus on youth enterprises with projects in the e-commerce space and Enterprise Digitisation.

Under Enterprise Digitisation, we work closely with young entrepreneurs to make their agricultural projects adopt ICT tools that increase their visibility, branding and marketing.
